LENTEN PRACTICES +
Pray the Rosary each day.
Have a Mass said for someone.
Red the Bible for 5 minutes each day.
Run an errand for someone.
Visit someone in the nursing home.
Go to confession every 2 weeks.
Pray the Stations of the Cross each day.
Bring your children to pray the Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings during Lent.
Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Reduce TV watching time.
Reduce time on the computer.
Cut out computer games.
Avoid using your cell phone for 2 hours.
Go to a week-day Mass.
Visit the church each day.
Clean somebody's house.
Wash someone's car.
Visit the cemetery and pray for the dead.
Be faithful to your Lenten fast and abstinence days.
Go to the Adult Education class on Monday night.
Read the Bible to your kids.
Read about the saint of that day.
Volunteer to help clean the church.
Help teach a children's catechism class.
Donate groceries to the parish food bank.
Read the Diocesan paper (Catholic Times).
Be faithful to Sunday Mass attendance.
Teach your children something that is unique to the Catholic faith.
Read one page each day in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (keep it on the kitchen table).
STATIONS OF THE CROSS +
Stations of the Cross will be prayed each Friday evening during Lent at 6:00 PM in the church. Stations will be held First Friday, March 5!
LENTEN REGULATIONS +
ABSTINENCE -- everyone 14 years of age and over is bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent. FAST -- Everyone 18 years of age and under 59 is required to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. On these two days of fast and abstinence, only one full meatless meal is permitted. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength may be taken according to each person's needs, but together these two should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids (including milk and fruit juices) are allowed. To disregard completely the law of fast and abstinence is seirously sinful.
